MAN TGX 18.400 is given the award "Green Truck 2011" (the Non-polluting truck). This tractive unit won a convincing victory, having shown the lowest fuel consumption and the lowest CO2 emission in the European market.
MAN TGX 18.400 is named "Green Truck 2011". Among the 14 trucks which took part in the professional super test organized by the Munich weekly magazine "VerkehrsRundschau" and the "TRUCKER" magazine, MAN TGX 18.400 XLX won, and MAN TGX 18.440 XLX took the third prize. MAN TGX 18.400 XLX climbed on top in profitability qualification, having scored 96 points out of 100 possible. Combining low fuel consumption with the lowest CO2 emission, it left its rivals far behind.
Rajnhardt Pollman, Director General of MAN Truck and Bus Deutschland accepted the award "Green Truck" from the hands of Birgit Bauer, the editor-in-chief of magazine "VerkehrsRundschau" and Johannes Rajhel, the editor-in-chief of "TRUCKER" magazine. At the award ceremony Pollman said: "We are happy to have received this award which we consider as recognition of our consecutive orientation on truck efficiency. The economy in the form of low fuel consumption and the large useful loading goes hand in hand with low CO2 emission. Thus, both environment and the organizations maintaining our trucks receive equal benefit from our innovative technology".
