Renault Trucks increases manufacture in Kaluga

Renault Trucks company increases manufacture at the factory in Kaluga planning to win the near abroad markets. As Director General of «Renault Traks Vostok» Fabris Gorle told in his interview to «RBC daily», last year they managed to let out about 300 of trucks, thus the company has tripled sales in the Russian market to almost 900 trucks. As he said, in 2011 it is planned to sell 2 thousand of trucks, in 2012 – 3,5 thousand pieces, and in a year – 4,5 thousand of trucks. Thus 80 % of the trucks, sold by «Renault Trucks Vostok» will be made in Kaluga – counting on the Russian, Belarus and Kazakhstan markets. Capacities of Renault Trucks in Russia allow producing 5 thousand trucks a year. The head of «Renault Trucks Vostok» noticed that the enterprise in Kaluga – a unique factory of Renault Trucks abroad (two factories are in France and one joint venture in Turkey). The company is ready to invest in the Kaluga factory about 50 million euro (together with its partner Volvo – 150 million euro) if the Russian government approves their demand for mode of «industrial assemblage» for manufacture of separate components – the chassis, cabins etc. According to F.Gorle, Renault Trucks share in the Russian market makes now 7 % among foreign brands. By 2015 it is planned to raise their share up to 16 %, and introduction of ecological standards of Euro-4 and Euro-5 will favour the European brands in truck segment. F.Gorle also told that negotiations are going on about the organization of assemblage of medium tonnage Renault trucks using the facilities of the factory "AMUR", and the final decision is about to be accepted till the end of March. We will remind, in September, 2010 the company «Renault Traks Vostok» and the Novouralsk factory "AMUR" signed the agreement on intentions, which provides the frameworks of assemblage of Renault Midlum trucks, and also use of Renault components in manufacture of some trucks of "AMUR" . The dealer network of Renault Trucks consists now of about 28 dealers all over Russia and by 2013 it is planned to have 50 of them.
